Robé dinero a mi mamá y aprendí a no hacerlo gracias a papá.

Me despido entonces...

¡Hasta la próxima!

English Version

Greetings to all. In other occasions I have shared in the community some of my writings. Usually I try to transmit experiences, thoughts and feelings in my stories, but this time it will be different, relatively speaking.

You see, recently our colleague @abrahambd1 told us that @el-hallazgo would focus on literary and digital art. I thought "Ah, literary art or digital art, let's see what I can do". That's when it occurred to me to do a drawing on my computer, thinking it would be a good piece of "digital art" to share with the community, especially since I had been practicing.

Although the drawing was what I would initially share, while I was doing it I felt inspired to write something about it, that's how this free verse writing was born, which I will also share with you. Also, the drawing I did will be its main image.

Having said all this, I present to you:

Memories of a sunset

Days ago, I was meditating on time and its passage through my life. It left traces that are easy to erase, but it also left marks that are difficult to remove.

I think of the now that is gone, I think of the past that is gone; I think of the future to come, but I fear that my time will end.

I write a memoir of my life, which I hope you will read someday. It is not a literary work, it is not poetry that measures up. It is my last writings, the most sincere that anyone ever did.

I was a child once, I played with little ones and big ones too. I stole money from my mom and learned not to thanks to dad. I had brothers and sisters who made me laugh, also cry and even suffer.

I loved them all very much, I regret that they went to other parts of the world.

As a teenager I had vices, also friends without trade. I was heartless and had no empathy, with a mother who cried night and day.

My father fought for me, but his strength waned. I thought I had the right to raise my hand to him, but his weeping made me lower my arms.

An unworthy son was I, I did not listen to the advice my father gave me. My mother with me reasoned, that I should try to be a better man. I finally came to my senses and to my parents I asked for forgiveness, for my previous behavior. I was the only son the two of them still had, the black sheep, of all, the youngest.

Over time I understood that violence and force can lead you to two places. In the first one you are going to find, people locked up that you can visit. In the second one you also accept visitors, but there are only rocks with names and dates inscribed on them. Only one place I had to go, to thank and ask forgiveness to the old people who rest there.

I reached forty and finally got married, to a beautiful young woman with a white complexion.

She turned my life around and everything changed, I finally felt like a better man. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of months before my health took a turn for the worse.

I felt like the rubble of a collapsed pillar, which can no longer even raise an arm. I had the joy of being happy for a few months, with the woman who smiled at me so many times.

I write these verses with a photo in my hand, of my wife and I sharing a picture at the lake. It was a photo taken of us against the light, with a bright sky and yellowish light. I have little time left with her, for without warning my stars will be extinguished.

I am sad that I will leave, but she and I will see each other again. Then we will walk hand in hand, watching that beautiful sunset...

I imagined this writing as the last memoirs of someone with a serious illness. He recounts his life in short, free verse, so it can be entertaining to do the mental exercise of imagining everything the character narrates.

I would also like to share with you the creative process of the drawing that inspired me. It is supposed to be a sunset, a sunset, a horizon with a sun about to set. It's a drawing I spent a little over an hour on, so I hope you liked it.

Below is an animation of the drawing process:

Well friends, what did you think of my writing and the image? I personally liked them, something obvious if we take into account that it was me who did both things. That's why I'd like to read them and know your opinions about it, so if you like you can leave your comments below; I'll be glad to read them.

Having said all this and with nothing more to add, this has been all. I'll say goodbye then...

See you next time!
