Yesterday I wrote that Nikolay Gryazin lost his win at European Rally Championship event Rally Hungary which finished on Sunday and all about reasons of it.
Gryazin didn't stop at the scene of Norbert Herczig's shunt where his co.driver got two broken ribs and Gryzin had to stop according the rules. He didn't and that's why he got 15 minutes penalty which put him at 24th place of general classification.
That decision of stewards gave Mads Ostberg first win in the European Rally Championship of this season. That rally wasn't originally in his plans but because he drives whole Hungarian championship, he did it and he did it in style finishing with win.
I like those Hungarian special stages very much and especially when there is lots of water on the road. Wet and damp conditions will you give you the real top guy of the road.
This season it was mostly dry with muddy places only on some parts of the special stages. Ostberg drives Citroen C3 Rally2, the car which performs super good especially on tarmac.It seems that this car was specially designed for tarmac rallies but in the right hands, it can be very powerful weapon on every surface.
Citroen Racing invests a lot into further development of that car and Mads Ostberg is always on the tests just to give more and take some better results on the rallies he contests.
Today we have an onboard video from special stage 2 where we can find very narrow roads through the Hungarian forests but the cuts are protected with anti-cut bars which I like very much.
