BREAKING NEWS: Andreas Mikkelsen is new WRC2 champion

Hi, friends!

Andreas Mikkelsen wants Rally1 drive for the next season but with limited number of available seats it could be really impossible. The only option could be to pay for a drive but that seems very stupid if you ask me.

The best and the most talented drivers on the World Rally Championship market shouldn't pay for a drive, they would have to be paid, that's professionalism.

Only available team around and interested was M-Sport Ford but they signed Craig Breen for 2022, and tho current drivers - Gus Greensmith and Adrien Fourmaux are expect to stay for another season with the team.

Yeah, Greensmith is paying for a drive while Fourmaux has a big sponsor in Red Bull who finance his drive.

That means that Mikkelsen is our for 2022 if we talk about Rally1 drive. This weekend he became WRC2 champion after Mads Ostberg failed o score better then 4th place in Spain at Catalanya Rally with his Citroen. The problem was a punctured tire and he couldn't do nothing about that.

Mikkelsen was absent at Spain because that rally was out of his program and he wanted to finish the season with Monza Rally which will go on the plan. So he had six outings and Ostberg had seven outings and they have equal number of points but Mikkelsen has more wins then Ostberg.

Don't forget that WRC2 class allows only seven registered outings per season. Ostberg finished his season and now it is over. Andreas Mikkelsen is a new WRC2 champion with his Škoda Fabia Rally2 ran by Toksport WRC team from Germany.

In the following days and weeks he could take European Rally Championship crown if he will collect enough points at ERC Rally Hungary.

It was really nice season for Mikkeslen but even both crowns won't be enough to secure WRC1 drive for 2022.
