This bird is unpretentious in choosing its place of residence. It can settle in treeless areas and on meadow landscapes, as well as in forests if they have low shrubs near the water.

The diet consists of insects and other invertebrates. In late summer, autumn and during migration, it eats various ripe berries and fruits.

Sexual dimorphism is expressed in slight differences in the color of the upper part of the body. Males have a gray head, and they also bristle feathers on their heads. And the females are more brownish.
