The most widespread and common woodpecker in Siberian forests.
He can be found at any time of the year. In the spring, he drumming on the trees, and also descends from the upper tiers down. In the summer, he takes care of offspring, feeds, and also teaches children to adulthood. With the arrival of autumn, he unites with other species of birds in a mixed flock of birds, and roams with them until spring. Sometimes they can be found alone. He feeds on insects, but in autumn and winter, sometimes he arranges forges in trees, in these holes he inserts coniferous cones and takes seeds out of them.
