Praises and preening at day's end.

Mother nature's lessons to us on how to end our days.

Little Jimmy sang some beautiful songs here late in the afternoon.

The birds have the habit of starting and ending each day in song and I think that it's a wonderful habit. Just to give thanks for another day in the mornings and to end the day with thanksgiving for being kept safe.
Many of us view each day as just another slog and Mondays have the reputation of being the worst day of the week.
The birds have no such hangups as each day to them is the same.
Come and see how he ends his day.

Swaying little body and head the Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris chalybeus) let out a series of beautiful tinkling notes in song.

He look at me and said, Hey, why aren't you also singing?

So beautiful to watch his proud preening.

First his chest and here under the little wings.

A quick song of happiness again.

And then the last preen before he took off.

Finally the golden colors of the sunset signalled home time for everyone.

And early this morning Robbie the Cape Robin-chat woke me up in the tree outside our window. He is the first singer opening each new day with a new song. So I don't have to look at a weather chart to know that the day will be good. Life has a way to get us down, but it's always a matter of choice, as we can mope and moan, or we can hope and smile.
I know of guys that smiled when they stood in front of a firing squad and what ending of life could possibly be worse.
So yes, let's lift our spirits in praises and be thankful for the breath that we have.

And That's All Friends.
