A short road trip over the mountain.

A Happy Friday to all and come take a ride with us.

One has to stop for the pedestrians in this area and that lady was worried that I would drive over this fancy chicken in the road.

The saddest thing to see for us is what they call a "road kill" and I once picked a young Jackal Buzzard up after it was banged by a car. The youngster died in my hands. So Yes, Marian has me stopping for even beetles that are cossing the road hahaha.
We tripped over the mountain yesterday and I got a few photos to show here.

He had a royal step in his stride and took his time to regally make his way.
He is a Pea Fowl (Eavo cristatus)

Great manners too, as he turned to thank me.

We were in farming country out in the crisp mountain air.

Our first hot day after the winter and the Pied Crow (Corus albus) sat open mouthed in the sun.

High up a Jackal Buzzard (Buteo rufofuscus) was cruising the thermals.

A family of Egyptian geese (Alopochen aegyptiaca) also crossed the road in the air.

This little Southern Fiscal (Lanius collaris) came to see what we were doing in the car.

Always lovely sights whenever we take these trips and now in Spring season the birds are plentiful. Soon we will take another trip as I want to go and search for the famous African Fish Eagle in the mountains.
We have heard his call a few times now coming from the same direction and I think a nesting site is waiting for me to find it.
Life is an adventure over here.

And That's All Friends!
