When I first heard about the eagles and their nests to be so near where I live, I did not pay much attention. A mate, who I know since we were together in school, told us that the hillside where the residential area ends is a place where we can see the eagles, because they nest there. But we never managed to go so far. Some day we will, because I am sure we can see more birds in the woods.
Now, back to the eagles and our booted eagle, who doesn't miss a day to show up once, twice even three times daily. We are constantly watching for signs, because the presence of the raptor is very well noticed by the panicked pigeons.
Still the eagle was high and the cropped image cannot show much details, something I wish to achieve. With what I've got I can only rely the bird to come close.
I don't know if this is male or female, but I know there is at least one couple in the near woods. Rarely we see them hunting in pairs. Usually only one is soaring in the sky.
The booted eagle is small or better to say medium-sized raptor. In my language it is called just Little eagle.
Soon the booted eagle will go south, also a migratory bird. I will be missing them, but the pigeons won't.
I have to say that I am extremely fortune to see the eagles each day. Who would believe that living in a town could provide all these opportunities for bird watching.
