La semana pasada fui a la playa, estaba allí para trabajar como fotógrafo de un viaje a la ciudad de La Guaira, Venezuela.

Last week I went to the beach, I was there to work as a photographer for a trip to the city of La Guaira, Venezuela.

Debía tomar fotos de las diferentes actividades del día, como la hora del desayuno, almuerzo, fotos grupales, retratos en la orilla de la playa.

I had to take pictures of the different activities of the day, such as breakfast time, lunch, group photos, portraits on the shore of the beach.

Estaba al pendiente de dejar gratos recuerdos para quienes contrataron los servicios del tour.

I was attentive to give pleasant memories to those who hired the services of the tour.

También aproveché el viaje para ir a la caza de las aves de la zona. Lastimosamente no conseguí cercanía con ninguna. No hicieron presencia en el cielo, pero si en un muelle abandonado por donde nadie transita.

I also took advantage of the trip to go bird hunting in the area. Unfortunately, I did not get close to any of them. They were not present in the sky, but they were in an abandoned dock where no one travels.

La distancia era considerable para lograr una buena foto. Cargaba conmigo un teleobjetivo 55-300 mm y mi cámara Nikon D5200.

The distance was considerable to get a good photo. I was carrying a 55-300 mm telephoto lens and my Nikon D5200 camera.

Estaba dispuesto, como lo hice, a meterme dentro del mar para acercarme lo más que pudiera a un grupo de pelícanos que estaba descansando al final del muelle que les mencioné.

I was prepared, as I did, to go into the sea to get as close as I could to a group of pelicans resting at the end of the pier I mentioned.

Lo que ven es la distancia focal más cercana que logré. El escenario hubiese podido ser mejor para retratar a esos pelícanos, pero estaba limitado por las fuertes olas.

What you see is the closest focal length I could get. The scenery could have been better for portraying those pelicans, but I was limited by the strong waves.

Con el oleaje que había, meterme más hacia al mar suponía un riesgo para mi equipo fotográfico. En una ocasión anterior hice una sesión de fotos en los pilares de ese muelle, pero aquel día el mar estaba calmado.

With the swell, going further out to sea posed a risk to my camera equipment. On a previous occasion I did a photo session on the pillars of that pier, but that day the sea was calm.

Solo dediqué 5 minutos haciendo estas fotos. No podía esperar más tiempo porque mi trabajo principal era retratar a los viajeros del full day.

I only spent 5 minutes taking these photos. I couldn't wait any longer because my main job was to take pictures of the full day travelers.
