This week's Show Me A Photo contest in the Feathered Friends Community is all about TAILS

I went through my archives and gathered up a few tail photos. Some of these are heavily cropped to just show the birds tail.
Peacocks probably have one of the most dramatic tails. They use their fancy feathers to attract females, but at the end of the summer they molt and loose their tail feathers, and regrow new tails in the spring.
Chickens can have lovely tail feathers. I tried to focus on tails, although these also could also be butt shots!
rooster
hen
A few more random tails...
Catbird
female cardinal
male Baltimore oriole
Carolina wren
Downy Woodpecker
bluejay
