His name is the result of a competition organized by Rebel Garden Cafe. The name Marek was chosen by lot. On that day he received a fish cake from sponsors.

He was born under natural conditions in which he would normally live up to 20 years. On the other hand, in breeding conditions, marabou can live up to 30 years.
