In Early July I took several pictures of a falcon that flew above my head near a field where it was looking for mice in the grass. I am not sure it was successful in the end but I find it always interesting when birds of prey are high up in the sky and look for some prey on the ground. I really like Eagles but they are way more difficult to find. Falcons can be found way easier and they "hover" over the ground during their stationary flight so taiking pictures of them is also easier. But since you still need to find them close enough it is still not very easy.

The next thing is that falcon can see very good and if you point a lens at them they might get scared away, but this probably highly depends on the angle the sunlight hits the lens. Only because they are one of the more common birds of prey here in Austria, i already had the chance to take several pictures of it. But unfortunately most of my pictures of the falcon are where it is flying or hovering. In future I also want some where they sit on a branch or on the floor or even better protecting their "prey".

One of my favorite birds is the Curlew, and last time I was at the wetlands of the Inn River I was again lucky to find some flying above my head. I only had seconds to take some pictures before they where gone again. I really love when they are searching for some food in the shallow water but this time I only managed to get them in flight.
