This week's topic of Hive Open Mic invites us to contemplate. To observe the world around us, people, actions, thoughts, life in general or small details of it. To meditate and contemplate effectively, we need to be calm and don't allow be distracted by other things. Even more, maybe to be in a state of the desert of our mind.

When there is too much action, distraction and noise, surely we have to make space for our contemplation. That thought the composer of the opera Thais, Jules Massenet, too. Between the scenes of Act II, he placed a slow intermezzo, time for reflection and meditation. It is written for solo violin and orchestra, but there are adaptions for other instruments also. Of course, I have the arrangement for the piano and will perform it in this video.

I went this morning to the local music school to ask them if I could practise for some time. They agreed, so here I am, playing in this nice upright piano the piece Meditation, composed by Jules Massenet.

The host of this event, @cabelindsay always creates such nice illustrations for the weekly themes, and for this week he prepared a desert with camels. Hence the cover photo of a camel, which is carved in iron. An artwork situated on the banks of the Danube river. It was sweet, I like it.
