Hello everyone
First I want to thank the organizers of this week's HIVE OPENMIC challenge and for giving the topic passion to sing about.
For me the word passion goes beyond just liking something it means what you can long for, live for and die for. It's a very strong word for me and so I usually ascribe it with my relationship with God as that's who I live and would want to die for.
But also, the current situation in the world reminds me of a time when everyone was scared of death from the covid virus which has been around for the past one and half years now and all just wanted to check up on each other and be able to spend time to be with loved ones.
And to the Health workers who gave their time, resources, skills and even their lives during those passion defining moments of our history.
It was hard coming up with a song, many came to mind but I had to ruthlessness pick this one by JP Saxe, If the world was ending.
The reason behind the song
I listened to JP and Julia and what they said was about the earthquake in LA, people overcoming their fears of talking to each other because the world was ending and anything can happen now, and all the rational reasons not to talk to someone no longer exists.
But for me, it was a discovery of the real essence of living, the passion to love, that fire burns in everyone and even tho we hide it, sometimes when situations put everyone in the same conditions those walls are broken and we realize, we are all the same, and we all need each other.
