🎵 Hive Open Mic Week 5 - Worldwide Live Music Event

Hive Open Mic ( #openmic ) is a virtual music stage, giving musicians a chance to freely share their music with an appreciative audience.

Hive Open Mic

Week 5: May 10-15, 2020

A community of music lovers for music fans and musicians

I am grateful to the hundreds of people who are helping to make this live music adventure a Hive success story. A few of the contributors I'd like to thank specifically include: @pfunk, @montycashmusic, @joseacabrerav, and @wildfamily. Thank you! And thanks to all the kind, caring people who are encouraging musicians to share their talents in this way.

The community we're building here is open, active, and free to join: Subscribe to Hive Open Mic. In my view, this event is a haven for creative expression and genuine connection. Our virtual open mic event is a stage for live music, celebrating songs with an international online audience.

Invitation

"Hum"

The theme for Hive Open Mic Week 5 is this: "Hum." To enter this event, you'll express yourself creatively with a song that helps us to explore the current theme. Original songs and cover songs are welcomed equally, as long as the song suits the theme. All musical forms and genres are OK.

Note: One of our Spanish-speaking participants asked about the meaning of "Hum." To me, it is the sound we make when we close our mouths and make a melody come from the throat. It is also the sound of a hummingbird flying, and a bee flying. Does that make sense?

Week 5 Theme - Hum

There are ample incentives for participating in the Hive Open Mic. Beyond the sheer enjoyment, musicians earn $ directly and they also earn a share of the "Tip Jar." Meanwhile, music fans are the first to hear original songs and fresh covers, performed by true artists.

Acknowledgments

Beeing in harmony is what Hive is all about.

Hive thrives on the collective energy we bring, and I am delighted to witness the harmony happening here in the Hive Open Mic. Such a joy to share this musical vibration with all of you talented musicians and the generous listeners. Thank you.

Looking back, we can still listen to the music from previous weeks: Song of the Sea, Open Path, Golden Sun, and Sweeter Than Honey. For those who missed last week's event, songs will be celebrated in a "Highlights" showcase, to be posted this Tuesday. I gratefully await new music in this 5th round, with the theme: Hum.

Enjoy Live Music - Subscribe to Hive Open Mic.
