Desde hace varias semanas he venido planificando una serie de publicaciones donde estaré recreando el look (peinado y maquillaje) de diferentes décadas, el día hoy iniciare con el look de la década de los 50’s, personalmente es el estilo que a mí más me gusta y que de hecho siento que es bastante atemporal, pues fácilmente se puede adoptar al 2021 y usarse sin problema alguno, así que mas que agregar aquí les contare como me trasforme (lo mejor que pude) al mejor estilo pin up.
For several weeks I have been planning a series of publications where I will be recreating the look (hairstyle and makeup) of different decades, today I will start with the look of the 50's, personally it is the style that I like the most and in fact I feel it is quite timeless, it can easily be adopted to 2021 and used without any problem, so more to add here I will tell you how I transformed myself (as best I could) to the best pin up style.
COMENCEMOS CON EL LOOK || LET'S START WITH THE LOOK
Comencé con lo que sabía sería lo más complicado para mi, el peinado, yo realmente no suelo peinarme (de hecho ni siquiera tenía ganchitos negro/bobby pins) así que sabía que en esta parte me complicaría un poco. Lo primero que hice fue desenredar mi cabello, luego me realice una cola alta separando una sección de cabello en la parte frontal.
I started with what I knew would be the most complicated part for me, the hairstyle, I don't really do my hair (in fact I didn't even have bobby pins) so I knew this part would be a bit complicated. The first thing I did was detangle my hair, then I made a high ponytail separating a section of hair in the front.
Con el cabello seco le pase el secador para crear volumen y además enrolle el cabello en el cepillo y le aplique aire caliente y frío para ondularlo un poco (yo no tengo tenazas y tampoco quería usar la plancha para formar esta onda), luego dividí la sección de cabello en dos partes de forma diagonal. Y forme el primer enrollado.
With the hair dry, I blew it with the blow dryer to create volume and also rolled the hair in the brush and applied hot and cold air to make it a little wavy (I don't have curling irons and I didn't want to use the iron to form this wave), then I divided the section of hair in two parts diagonally. And I formed the first curl.
Para formar ambos enrollados lo que hice fue encrespar la base del cabello y aplicar un poco de laca, peine cuidadosamente el mechón para acomodar todos los cabellos pequeños y fui enrollando en mis dedos todo el mechón (yo tengo el cabello muy largo así que necesite mucha paciencia), enrollando cuidadosamente lleve el mechón hasta las base del cabello y allí sujete con ganchitos negros/bobby pins (aquí ya estaba hecha un desastre así que mi hermana me ayudo lol) y termine de sellar con mas laca.
To form both coils what I did was to curl the base of the hair and apply some hairspray, I carefully combed the strand to accommodate all the small hairs and I rolled in my fingers the whole strand (I have very long hair so I needed a lot of patience), carefully rolled the strand to the base of the hair and there I fastened with bobby pins (here I was already a mess so my sister helped me lol) and finished sealing with more hairspray.
Luego coloque una bandana que sujete con bastantes ganchitos porque se resbalaba de mi cabello y en la parte superior realice el respectivo lazo.
Then I put a bandana that I fastened with a lot of clips because it was slipping out of my hair and on the top I made the respective bow.
Y ahora si con el cabello listo (y ahogándome por el olor de la laca) me pase al maquillaje. Usualmente yo suelo comenzar por los ojos, pero este maquillaje es bastante sencillo así que esta vez empecé por el rostro, aplique mi base extendiéndola hasta el cuello y luego aplique el corrector llevándolo hasta los parpados para luego trabajar las sombras.
And now with my hair done (and choking from the smell of hairspray) I moved on to makeup. I usually start with the eyes, but this makeup is pretty simple so this time I started with the face, apply my foundation extending it to the neck and then apply the concealer to the eyelids and then work on the shadows.
Luego hice el contorno de mi rostro y maquille mis cejas, algo que me llamo la atención del look de los 50’s es que definían muy bien sus cejas, es por ello que esta ocasión maquillaje mis cejas lo más definidas posibles, incluso limpiando los bordes con corrector.
Then I did the contour of my face and made up my eyebrows, something that caught my attention of the 50's look is that they defined their eyebrows very well, that's why this time I made up my eyebrows as defined as possible, even cleaning the edges with concealer.
Yo aun no tengo polvo suelto, pero con un poco de polvo compacto hice una especie de baking para sellar lo mejor posible el corrector. Sin terminar de sellar el rostro me pase a los ojos (los cuales no estaban sellados) y aplique una sombra marrón clara en tono de transición, solamente en el pliegue y en la V externa.
I still don't have loose powder, but with some pressed powder I did a kind of baking to seal the concealer as well as possible. Without finishing sealing the face I moved on to the eyes (which were not sealed) and applied a light brown shadow in transition tone, only in the crease and on the outer V.
Luego oscurecí un poco esta sombra aplicando otra en un tono un poquito más oscuro, y después aplique una sombra en color crema satinada en la parte interna del parpado móvil, el maquillaje de ojos de este look es realmente muy sencillo así que no hice más.
I then darkened this shadow a bit by applying another one in a slightly darker shade, and then applied a satin cream shadow on the inner part of the eyelid, the eye makeup for this look is really very simple so I didn't do any more.
Barrí el sobrante de polvo y termine de sellar el rostro, luego aplique las dos sombras marrones en la línea inferior del ojo y seguidamente use un poco de bronzer y rubor, pero todo de forma muy sutil.
I swept off the excess powder and finished sealing the face, then applied the two brown shadows on the lower eye line and then used a little bronzer and blush, but all in a very subtle way.
Ahora me fui con una de las partes destacadas del maquillaje de la década de los 50’s: el delineado, pero antes aplique un poco de lápiz negro solamente en la línea de agua inferior, y procedí a realizar el delineado y les confesare que de todo el look este punto era en que mas desconfianza me daba porque era la primera vez que lo hacía (recuerden que no hace mucho fue que comencé a usar delineador), pero al final salió bastante bien lol, eso si no lo extendí demasiado para no tentar a mi suerte lol.
Now I went with one of the highlights of the makeup of the 50's: the eyeliner, but before I applied a little black pencil only in the lower water line, and proceeded to make the eyeliner and I confess that of all the look this point was the one that gave me more distrust because it was the first time I did it (remember that not long ago I started using eyeliner), but in the end it came out pretty well lol, but I did not extend it too much not to tempt my luck lol.
Ya para terminar encrespe mis pestañas, aplique rímel y pegue las pestañas postizas más sencillas que logre conseguir, y finalmente use el característico labial rojo de este look (el cual ya estoy acostumbrada a usar).
Finally, I curled my lashes, applied mascara and glued on the simplest false lashes I could find, and finally wore the signature red lipstick for this look (which I'm used to wearing).
