Deep Fried Crispy Sticks ~ Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Deep Fried

Hello Hiveans and @qurator! How are you? Hope everyone is fine and having a good day wherever you are.

So 'Deep Fried' theme is back this week. I was thinking of doing simple snacks with ingredients that I can find at home. I was so lazy to go outside to buy ingredients from Supermarket, so I will use whatever ingredients that I can find in the kitchen. In this recipe, I experimented with a pancake mix flour. Let’s see whether it turn out alright or not. Crispy Sticks are a type of flour-based snack that was easily prepared and deep fried.

It is quite easy to make with less ingredients and most importantly fast to prepare. I hope you will like it and even though it is cold, the outside is still crispy and delicious to eat. Perfect for a party, Try it!

Deep Fried Crispy Sticks

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup water
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
• 2 cups flour
• 1 egg
• Piping bag and nozzle

Cinnamon Sugar
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

METHODS

  1. In a small saucepan add water, butter, sugar and salt. Cook on fire until all ingredients melted and begin to boil. Remove the pan from fire and leave aside to cool for 10 minutes.

  2. Add the flour and vanilla essence then stir until the flour is even and the dough is not lumpy.

  3. Add 1 egg and mix well.

  4. The right dough will not be runny and will look like this.

  5. Pour the batter into a piping bag with a suitable nozzle.

  6. Heat oil in a pan for frying later. Pipe the batter in hot oil and cut to your desired length. Turned and fry until browned.

  7. Toss and mix with cinnamon sugar (Brown sugar + Cinnamon powder).
