La oportunidad, es decir, el estar en momento y lugar correcto es algo muy importante en el mundo de la fotografía. De allí para adelante, entran en juego otros aspectos, como la precisión, porque con ella daremos armonía a aquello que vemos.
The opportunity, in other words, being in the right place at the right time, is something very important in the world of photography. From there forward, other aspects come into play, such as precision, because with it we will give harmony to what we see.
Estos aspectos toman mayor relevancia cuando retratamos a insectos. Y si se tratan de ágiles, rápidas y voladoras abejas, cada microsegundo y movimiento cuenta.
These aspects are even more important when we photograph insects. And if they are agile, fast and flying bees, every microsecond and movement counts.
Por acá comparto con ustedes una serie de fotos que tomé ayer con mi celular Xiaomi Poco M3. La primera de ellas es la única que capturé con el sensor de 48 megapixeles.
So here I share with you a series of photos I took yesterday with my Xiaomi Poco M3 cell phone. The first one is the only one I took with the 48 megapixel sensor.
Esa distancia que observan es la máxima aproximación que podía hacer antes que perdiera el enfoque. En esta función (48MP) no me permitía hacer zoom, así que cambié a la cámara regular para acercarme mediante el zoom del teléfono.
That distance you observe is the maximum approach I could make before I lost focus. In this function (48MP) it did not allow me to zoom in, so I switched to the regular camera to zoom in using the phone's zoom.
La precisión, en estos casos, nos genera un gran desafío a superar. Dar con el punto dulce de la fotografía es muy difícil, porque el mas simple movimiento del insecto o de nosotros, hará que la foto quede desenfocada.
The precision, in these cases, creates a big challenge to overcome. Finding the sweet spot of the photograph is very difficult, because the slightest movement of the insect or of us will blur the photo.
Para fotografiar a esta abeja me favoreció que estaba tan concentrada en obtener polen que no se dio cuenta que yo estaba allí. Por los momentos pensé que estaba dormida sobre la flor. Sin embargo, en seguida, comenzaba a volar erráticamente y con una velocidad imposible de capturar para mi celular.
To photograph this bee, I found that she was so focused on getting pollen that she didn't notice I was there. For a moment I thought she was asleep on the flower. However, immediately, she began to fly erratically and with a speed impossible for my cell phone to capture.
El reino de los insectos es increíble y eso se vuelve completamente visible cuando la fortuna, nuestra pericia, y sobre todo la oportunidad, se juntan para retratar algo tan común para ellos como lo es alimentarse.
The insect kingdom is incredible and that becomes fully visible when fortune, our expertise, and above all the opportunity, come together to portray something as common for them as feeding.
