More than 20000 identified species of leafhopper cicadas within the Cicadellidae family, make it really difficult to identify them when we see a new specimen, and today I have spent most of the day looking for this little friend that I found yesterday afternoon in one of the leaves of my desert rose plant, For me, finding leafhoppers on plants is something magical because they are usually so tiny that they go unnoticed, or on the contrary when we see them they are so fast jumping that when you want to take a good picture it is almost impossible.
The characteristics of this small one, approximately 8 millimeters long, resemble those of Eupterycyba jucunda, however, I am not quite convinced that they are the same species, this for me, is the biggest problem when trying to identify the species when we talk about leafhoppers.
What I can say is that this little one came with his tuxedo to visit my little plant, that is, that the party was gala hahaha, this is one of the things I love about the cicadas, the great diversity of shapes and colors that we can find in them, their vibrant colors and varied designs that we can find in their costumes. The cicadas of the Cicadellidae family of which there are about 20000 identified species, is really wider, and even according to Wikipedia it is said that there are about 100000 species in total, so it is likely that this little friend is not yet identified and that is why I had such a hard time finding its species.
His tuxedo with very pixelated minecraft design, and transparent wings make it really beautiful, its color between green and yellow, is really striking, and to tell the truth I really happy the afternoon and the day this little friend. If any of you can tell me if indeed this cicada is a Eupterycyba Jucunda, or if it is another species, I would be very grateful.

Mas de 20000 especies identificadas de chicharras o cigarras salta hojas dentro de la familia Cicadellidae, hacen realmente difícil la identificación de estas cuando vemos un espécimen nuevo, y hoy he pasado la mayor parte del día en busca de quien será este amiguito que me encontré en la tarde de ayer en una de las hojas de mi planta de rosa del desierto, para mí, encontrar chicharritas en las plantas es algo mágico pues por lo general son tan diminutas que pasan desapercibidas, o por el contrario cuando las vemos son tan veloces al saltar que cuando quieres tomarle una buena fotografía es casi imposible.
Las características de esta pequeña de aproximadamente 8 milímetros de largo, se asemejan a las de la Eupterycyba jucunda, sin embargo, no termino de convencerme de que sean de la misma especie, este para mí, es el mayor problema al tratar de identificar las especies cuando de salta hojas hablamos.
Lo que sí puedo decir es que esta pequeña llego con su smoking a visitar mi plantita, es decir, que la fiesta era de gala jajaja, esta es una de las cosas que amo de las chicharritas, la gran diversidad de formas y colores que podemos encontrar en ellas, sus colores vibrantes y diseños variados que podemos encontrar en sus trajes. Las chicharritas de la familia Cicadellidae de las cuales hay unas 20000 especies identificadas, es realmente mas amplia, e incluso según Wikipedia se dice que existen alrededor de unas 100000 especies en total, así que es probable que esta pequeña amiga aun no este identificada y por ello me ha costado tanto encontrar su especie.
Su smoking con diseño muy a lo minecraft pixelado, y alas trasparentes lo hacen realmente hermoso, su color entre verde y amarillo, es verdaderamente llamativo, y a decir verdad me alegro mucho la tarde y el día esta pequeña amiguita. Si alguno de ustedes puede decirme si en efecto esta chicharrita es una Eupterycyba Jucunda, o si por el contrario es de otra especie, estaría muy agradecida.
