Covid-cation Wrap Up- Day 9 & 10

We left off just getting to Myrtle Beach and catching an amazing sunset. For the next 3 days we lounged around on the beach. Every morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise from our room out across the Atlantic.

Someone even let us hang out with her on the Beach

She is so spoiled. We went all over Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas. It was a great time and I can't wait to go back.

After our last night we packed up and started heading North...ish.

In typical fashion it didn't take us long to get sidetracked. Our first random stop was in Surry County, North Carolina. As we drove we saw ourselves getting closer and closer to this really cool looking mountain. Shortly after that we found a lookout in a park. Here is some pics and info.

Pilot Mountain

We spent a little time here and hit another 20 places along the way. Most of them I have on video and haven't figured out YouTube editing yet. Someday...

North we headed up through Virginia and into West Virginia. The terrain and views were breath taking from the mountains. Once we crossed into WV we lost all cell phone service. Not knowing what was going on we asked one of the locals.

We found out why we had no coverage. There is a HUGE radio telescope called The Green Bank Telescope and no cell phone towers were allowed within a certain range of it. We didn't have a chance to stop since it was late in the day but here is what it looks like from the Library of Congress.

From here we kept heading North towards Ohio. Right on the border of WV and Ohio was something we both really wanted to see. You may have heard of the town Point Pleasant West Virginia. So what was it you ask?

The Mothman Statue!

If you don't know the story behind the Mothman Prophecy you can check it out here at the Nerdist.

From here we drove straight home with as few distractions as possible...and we did it! Home again.

Now for something that I never do. Since only about 4 people actually read this, here is a pic of me and the better half!
