Annual dinner parties are just part of what we do

Although this year's "Animal Party" was well-known to be a much smaller affair in years past due to the fact that we are dealing with both half of our members being locked out of the country and half of the remaining half leaving town do to the worse than expected air pollution that is happening in Chiang Mai right now, we still pulled off a pretty decent affair although it was at a much smaller venue than we would normally do this sort of thing at.

The Animal Dinner event brings all of the 4 Hash chapters in Chiang Mai together for one night and even those most of us do in fact participate in more than one chapter anyway, there are a few people that do not. This is a good chance for them to meet one another and well, it is also a fantastic time for us to get together and do something that most of us are really good at anyway: Drinking beer.

Normally we would request that people dress up a bit for these things but honestly, that is asking too much out of most of these louses so we just let people wear whatever they want. We booked the entire restaurant so they have to let us in.

I stopped taking photos at the actual food part of the evening but that is fine because honestly, it wasn't anything special and we likely wont return to this place for such an event in the future. They were trying their best but mostly they really should have just stuck to Thai food because even though they were definitely trying, they do not know how to make western food here.

There was plenty of acting silly and just getting drunk but really, that is what everyone expected at this thing. It was nice to have the GM's of all 4 chapters (one of whom forgot to bring their banner) all getting roasted at the same time though - it was the highlight of the evening actually.

We are known as drinkers with a running problem and most of our events involve some form of exercise but this isn't one of them. We only do it once a year and while it is a shame that this event that normally has 100 or more people at it only had around 30 this time, we did the best we could. It was nice to be able to get everyone who is still around together again.
