Hoy me gustaría enseñaros una fuente que podemos encontrar en Cádiz donde se encuentran dos niños bajo un paraguas.
Me llamó mucho la atención y quise investigar un poco sobre ella y lo que encontré no fue exactamente lo que me esperaba.
Today I would like to show you a fountain that we can find in Cádiz where two children are under an umbrella.
It caught my attention and I wanted to do some research on it and what I found was not exactly what I expected.
En un viaje de negocios lo trajeron a Cádiz desde París para la casa de la familia Aramburu.
¿Y por qué se encuentra entonces en el Parque Genovés?
On a business trip he was brought to Cádiz from Paris for the Aramburu family home.
And why is it then in the Genovés Park?
Durante unos años, efectivamente, ahí estuvo hasta que un familiar decidió donarla al Ayuntamiento de Cádiz.
For a few years, indeed, it was there until a relative decided to donate it to the Cádiz City Council.
La historia de ellos es muy emotiva a la vez de triste. Son los protagonistas de la novela de Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre y narra cómo dos madres solteras tienen que criar a Pablo y Virginia al margen de la sociedad. Ellos crecen juntos hasta que la madre de la niña se da cuenta del amor que comienza a surgir entre ellos y decide enviarla a estudiar a París. Para sus madres ellos han crecido como hermanos.
Their story is very emotional as well as sad. They are the protagonists of the novel by Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre and it tells how two single mothers have to raise Pablo and Virginia on the margins of society. They grow up together until the girl's mother realizes the love that begins to emerge between them and decides to send her to study in Paris. To their mothers they have grown up as brothers.
Ella se va a estudiar y años más tarde cuando decide regresar, el barco sufre un terrible accidente donde ella muere.
Pablo no puede con la pena y corre la misma suerte ya que no puede aguantar el no volver a verla.
She goes to study and years later when she decides to return, the ship suffers a terrible accident where she dies.
Pablo cannot cope with the pain and he runs the same fate since he cannot bear not seeing her again.
Esta historia sucede en Islas Mauricio y por ello si la visitas, podrás ver diferentes esculturas de ellos.
This story happens in Mauritius and therefore if you visit it, you will see different sculptures of them.
¿Bonita, verdad? No me esperaba para nada que esta escultura que se encuentra en uno de los parques más bonitos de Cádiz tuviera detrás esta historia tan triste.
Si estáis por la ciudad, no dejéis de visitar el lugar, ya que os va a encantar.
Pretty, right? I did not expect at all that this sculpture that is in one of the most beautiful parks in Cádiz had this sad story behind it.

Y para terminar, os dejo esta foto de otro de los lugares ubicados en el parque. Una auténtica preciosidad y muy cerca de la fuente.
El edificio que podéis ver al final es uno de los hoteles de la ciudad. Mucho más moderno de lo que puedes encontrar en el Casco Histórico y al lado de la Playa de la Caleta donde puedes disfrutar de una de las mejores puestas de Sol del mundo.
And to finish, I leave you this photo of another of the places located in the park. A real beauty and very close to the source.
The building that you can see at the end is one of the hotels in the city. Much more modern than what you can find in the Old Town and next to Playa de la Caleta where you can enjoy one of the best sunsets in the world.
