Willian and Gabriel help Asernal win

It was an exciting new premier league season as Arsenal travelled to Craven Cottage in London, the home of Fulham. Mikel arteta had a good opening after a convinent win over the newly promoted Fulham.

Fulham relegated in the 2014 premier league campaign and since then the team has been struggling to come back to the premier league.

Finally they had their way back to the premier league following an impressive performance in the championship last season which earned them a promotion to premier league.

Fulham were defeated at home in their opening game of the season by the gunners. Arsenal dominated the match both the first and second half of the game, firing thirteen short, six on target, four off target and three blocked. Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Magalhaes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were on target for the gunners.

Mikel arteta went into the game with 3-4-3 formation, with the introduction of two new faces Willian and Gabriel to the squad.

Willian joined Arsenal on a free transfer and It was a great afternoon for the Brazilian international after a 100% passing rate in the first half and producing two assists to Arsenal three points in the opening day of English premier league. Willian was involved in all the three goals, First, he's disorder shot set up Lacazette's 8th minutes close range goal, his cross to Gabriel for Arsenal's second, and he also delivered cross that set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goal.

Williams is a fast and tricky player, he was able to outsmart Joe Bryan and Tim Ream, Fulham left and center back, keeping them out of position with his pace. He was at the right position at the right time, he delivered quickly to Lacazette and Aubameyang when his with the ball. He also struck the post on the edge with his free-kick before half time.

Another new signing, Gabriel Magalhaes, the new signing looked anxious in the opening stages and almost cost Arsenal a goal after an early mix up with Bernd Leno which nearly allowed Aboubakar Kamara to pounce, but he grew confindence and undoubtedly marked an improvement at the back. He increased Arsenal's resilience to any lofted balls, winning his headers and keeping their backline high up the pitch and he completed his debut with a goal.

Arteta was delighted with the performance of Willian and Gabriel, he said afterwards, "I knew Willian would put in a performance like that straight away. Gabriel was terrific. It doesn't get much better than that. It was really good. Obvious for Willian. He knows the league, the country and is very settled here, so I knew his performance would settle straight away. For Gabriel, it was a big challenge for him today to come in.
Arsenal will play West Ham United at home in the 2nd round of the 2020/2021 premier league season, next week.
