Still working my way through Krispy Kreme’s menu. This particular one is of a very popular coffee biscuit. Can you guess which one it is? Yeah, of course you can. It’s none other than a Lotus Biscoff!
Krispy Kreme - Lotus Biscoff
”Calling all Lotus Biscoff lovers. This is the doughnut you’ve always dreamed of. Filled with Lotus Biscoff infused Kreme, smothered with Lotus Biscoff spread and topped with (yep, you’ve guessed it) Lotus Biscoff crumb. Too much?! Never.”
I do love this little biscuits you get with your coffee, so it was imperative I gave this one a go. You can’t miss this donut on the shelves, what with the golden biscuit crumb and the white chocolate shavings. Very nice. The Lotus Biscoff crumb is very crunchy and it sits on top of the lotus Biscoff icing. As you take a bite, you get through to the Lotus Biscoff kreme. That kreme is so light and fluffy and smooth. It has a very light brown almost nude colour for the kreme. The donut has that lovely flavour of burnt caramel which is the only way I can describe the flavour of the biscuits themselves. The white chocolate on top brings this donut to life or I don’t think it would look that nice without it. A lovely spongy and well filled donut.
I couldn’t eat a lot of these. I think I’d be able to do two in one helping, but I’d be pushed to say I can do three and that’s saying something. The most I’ve had in one helping is five filled Krispy Kreme donuts. I’m still yet to reach six, but that won’t happen with the Lotus Biscoff donut. It is rather rich and sickly. If you fancy more than one donut along side this, then I would suggest going for a fruity one and not another kreme filled done or chocolate for that matter. It would be far too much. I’d highly recommend this donut with a cup of coffee. That really sings to me now.
