This donut I had way back in November 2019. I have only just got round to talk about it after sharing my thoughts on Krispy Kreme’s special donuts. Was this one a memorable donut? Read on to find out more.
Krispy Kreme - Caramel Iced Ring
”Krispy Kreme’s signature Original Glazed ring doughnut dipped in caramel icing finished with a caramel drizzle.”
I do love a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed so it was nice to see a variant of it. I really like caramel too, so to have the two together sounded like this was going to be very yummy indeed, and indeed it was! Although there didn’t seem much to this donut as it was just dipped in icing, but I can tell you it was packed full of flavour. The caramel was sweet but not too sweet. It had a nice buttery toffee flavour. I really loved the caramel drizzle on top too. The decoration did remind me of a classic drawing of a donut. Just delightful!
Yeah! This is what I’m talking about. A simple donut with lots of flavour. The donut did not feel heavy at all. It was light and fluffy and I could easily have demolished 6 in a row. I know Krispy Kreme do have quite a few caramel donuts that they bring out here and there, but I hope they bring this one out again soon. A year is long enough to wait!
