Lettuce Look At The Garden!

IMG_1063.JPG

Lettuces are growing well, here! At least for now. From left, two containers of Butter Crunch, left. Red Romaine, and Romaine, middle, and then, right: Romaine Head Lettuce. Our family goes through about 2 or 3 bowls daily, and we do not buy lettuce from stores.

Above Lettuce doesn't actually grow well in high heat, so, I tend to plan for the die off! I just planted (bottom, lighter colored peat soil) Spinach. and another Butter Crunch Lettuce. It will be ready in about 6 weeks, and should be fine, for now, in the heat. the other containers will be picked clean or die off from heat, but then.

below MY THUMB!!!! and also, some Dark Opal Basil, Oregano, and Sweet Basil.

Above Newly planted red Romaine lettuce, Marigold, and two bags of Onion, chives, etc
Below The Peas, almost at their end of cycle. Peas are another Cold Weather crop and the yellowing leaves are a sign they are about to die off in the heat. I am still picking about a bowl daily of Golden Peas, Sugar Daddy Snap, and Oregon Giant Peas.

I've spent some time, so far, with this garden, and am extremely excited. It is so close to truly pushing out many many vegetables. next update, I will snap some photos of the actual fruits and vegetables.

She challenged us all, during the year's Pandemic news,
to talk less about Codiv19 and More about Grovid20!
To talk sustainability and gardening and growing for the future!
