World Vegan Day Melbourne 2017 (Video)

On 12 November 2017, I attended World Vegan Day Melbourne. It was a great day out, so much to see, do and explore. This video contains a rundown of the day’s events and activities.

I believe every aspect of veganism was well represented at World Vegan Day. There was a massive variety of food available. There was:

  • vegan pizza
  • vegan ice cream
  • vegan fish and chips
  • vegan noodles
  • vegan chocolates
  • vegan cookies
  • vegan baklava
  • vegan chicken
  • vegan hot dogs
  • vegan burgers
  • fresh fruit drinks
  • vegan cheeses
  • and many more

There were stalls representing the various areas of animal cruelty. These areas included:

  • whaling
  • greyhound racing
  • horse racing
  • duck shooting
  • rabbit abandonment
  • palm oil and Orangutans
  • mistreatment of Beagles
  • mistreatment of Bears
  • The abuse animals by the meat and dairy industries such as:
    o Cows
    o Chickens
    o Goats
    o Pigs

People often argue that a vegan diet does not provide sufficient protein. There were stalls explaining the power of obtaining protein from just a plant-based diet. There was even a vegan bodybuilder (Billy Simmonds) who demonstrated his strength by lifting 100kg, 100 times in under 10 minutes.

There were also talks and presentations running throughout the day. These talks were very informative. I attended a talk where athletes were explaining how they managed to succeed on a vegan diet.

All of the above is explained in my video. I hope you enjoy watching the video. I will be posting again tomorrow a more detailed write-up of the event. So, keep your eyes open for that. Thank you for watching.
