On The Road Again - arriving in Albania

Hey Hello my dear Hive-Friends! ☀️

Wow, it feels like I haven't been here for years!
It's only been two weeks, but so many things have changed since my last post.

We're living in the van again and our internet and power supply is quite limited, but I'm really looking forward to start blogging again, even if the posts are a bit shorter than usual <3

I'm probably gonna tell a little more about the journey and share some photos during the next days, but for now just a little sign of life from ...

... Albania!!

Yes, I'm in Albania now!
Who would have thought ^^

The last two weeks were again a proof of what I thought I had learned already: that planning doesn't work anymore XD

As mentioned in my last post, our original plan was to go to Montenegro again after leaving our lovely house-sitting in the Bulgarian valley, to visit my man's family and especially his brother who is staying there during September.

Everything worked well (suspiciously well actually ^^) until we arrived at the Serbian-Montenegrin border.

A few days earlier the Montenegrin government had changed their rules again.

There's so much more to tell, but to keep it short for today, they wouldn't let us in without a negative covid test or a vaccine.
Not even when we offered to do a quarantine (again).
Not even when I almost started crying ^^
Not a chance.

And after a few days of driving around in Serbia, thinking, talking and asking for advice from our Montenegrin friends, we decided to do what was our plan for fall and winter anyway: to travel to Albania.

There's also a small chance that it might be a bit easier to get to Montenegro from here and maybe we'll try it again. But for now we're just happy to be here and take a breath.

All the countries around have closed their borders already and Albania literally was the last country on the Balkans that would let us in without any of the covid paper stuff.

Such weird times we're living in.

But Albania is so beautiful, we have met really friendly people already, the fruits and veggies are delicious and the weather is amazing, so it's definitely not the worst place to get stuck during another wave of craziness :-)

We'll see. Universe will tell eventually.
And until the next door opens up we're enjoying the sun and the food and the beautiful Adriatic Sea :-)

Much love and hugs!
Ana <3
