The #Decentralized-Internet Contest

The world is beginning to change. In 2020 we saw a significant shift to a decentralized web. We may still be in diapers, but we are starting to see significant efforts to achieve this. HIVE is doing an excellent job. The SPEAK network, which is coming soon, will also help with the decentralization of the internet.

With all of this, I believe that it is time to hear from the community. That is why I chose to join HackerNoon's Decentralized Interner Writing Contest and run our version in HIVE.

Here are the HackerNoons’s Contest Rules & Guides:

Who can enter the contest?

You must be 18+ to enter. There are no location restrictions, you can enter the contest from anywhere in the world.

Do I have to post under my real name?

Real names can add validity, but meritocracy trumps all. If you create a new Hacker Noon account under a pseudonym and if you are a finalist, we’ll contact you privately to award your prize.

What can I write about?

Almost anything under the sun, as long as it follows Hacker Noon’s general submission guidelines.

How long will the contest run?

The contest will run for a total of one year - from April 1st, 2021 to December 31st, 2021, with prizes awarded at the end of each month.

Can I submit more than one entry to the contest?

Yes. Contestants can submit as many #decentralized-internet stories as they want each month. The more, the merrier; the more you submit, the more chances you have of winning. However, you can only win 1 prize per month.

If I already won a prize, can I still enter the next session?

Yes. Even if you won a prize in the first session, feel free to enter the 2nd and 3rd sessions and try to score a hat-trick!

These are some examples of stories about decentralizing the internet:

All of these rules are specifically for the HackerNoon contest. But the idea is to also make a contest here in HIVE and participate in both.

Rules to Participate in the HIVE Version of this Contest:

  • Write a story or make a video talking about the Decentralized Internet.

  • You can share your experience on the decentralized web and talk about your favorite dapps and websites.

  • Only original content based on your experiences.

  • On your Hive post or 3Speak.tv video, include the tags #decentralized-internet as one of the first four tags.

  • Share your post on Twitter using the hashtags: #HIVE, #DecentralizedInternet, and other related hashtags to your post. If you are active in other traditional Social Media sites, you can also share your post there.

  • If you make a video on 3Speak, upload a short clip on Twitter, and then add a link under the Tweet. Videos get a lot more views if uploaded directly to Twitter, and to see the rest, they will need to go to your 3Speak profile.

Prizes for the HIVE Contest Version
