The photography of @tinman88

The poetry of @tupamalo

It’s really easy for an author to include an intertextual reference in his/her poems to another author. In "Reading the heroes," the author goes even further. He actually writes about the picaresque mythical journey of Gods and Heroes, diminishing their entire universal reputation and making their image kneel in front of Kavafy, one of the great writers of the world, whom I highly appreciate. The poem of our Hive friend even mimics the same style Kavafy had up until the end. This poem was upvoted for its power of recontextualizing the universal heroic deeds and stories, and using the same mechanics as Kavafy did once in his poetry. Congratulations, @tupamalo, for managing to interiorize Kavafy’s work and for being able to express your homage to him in such a pure way, close to his style.

The music of @hmviolinista

The fiction of @silher

The painting of @mohanraj

Bonus Highlight

This week's bonus highlight is Spanish Literature Curator @jesupsoto's short story contest, La Abeja Obrera, which is sponsored by the Creative Coin Fund.

The inaugural Abeja Obrera closed for entries on October 29 with participation from 36 writers. Congratulations @jesuspsoto on a successful launch to your contest.

First place in the contest went to @hlezama for "Nano." Contest judge @tomasjurado wrote this of "Nano" (translated from Spanish by DeepL):

A story that stands out for its use of language, for the quality of the images and for the simple way in which it describes the exploits of Nano, a character who symbolizes fidelity even in the cruelest circumstances of life.

To participate in the second Abeja Obrera contest, visit the contest entry post.
