Mask Mandate Returns to Okanagan, British Columbia

British Columbia's COVID-19 pandemic state of emergency began on March 18th, 2020 and ended on July 1st, 2021. This state of emergency, which revoked many of our charter rights like travel and assembly, was made possible through a Ministreal Order which also mandates measures like masks in indoor public places. This order is supposed to be null when the state of emergency has lifted; however, B.C. has implemented a multi-phase restart plan.

I don't understand this multi-step plan, and it sounds like a crock of shit to me. There is no legal backing to a multi-step plan. Either the state of emergency was lifted or it was not. The only ambiguous wording that I can find in the Ministerial Order is: "WHEREAS the persistence of the COVID-19 pandemic warrants a coordinated provincial approach to the use of face coverings in indoor public spaces".

Apparently there are now regional restrictions for the Okanagan, meaning we're back to where we were in June, except now we're openly talking about vaccine passports, threatening the unvaccinated with removing their rights and pointing the finger at them as the reason for lockdowns. All of these things are stages of genocide: symbolization, polarization, discrimination, dehumanization.
