On Wednesday the carpenter started building the 3 boxes to hold squash over the winter. I’d had a problem in the past with mice getting into them.
These boxes would sit on a shelf in the new root cellar. They would be covered with ¼” hardware cloth on all sides, stapled tightly to the frame. There would be an access lid on the top that closed tightly.
He’s making 3 of them for now. I think that will hold all the squash.
