Hell Hole Reservoir isn't too far from my house when you look at a map. However, it's quite a long drive to access, about three hours. Google maps brought me down a long dirt road that I didn't need to go down if I would have been ok with a few extra miles. I shouldn't have taken the shortcut as I ended up with a flat tire on the dirt road. Changed it and eventually made it to the Big Meadows Campground, above the reservoir. It was beautiful! And amazingly, there were only a few other groups of campers at the campground.
A lot of fishing was done, but unfortunately, not much catching... A couple small fish that were let go, and not enough crawdads to justify keeping them for dinner. Not a problem though, tons of fun was still had.
I thought I'd share some cell phone photos of our trip. I got some photos with the Canon but I'll make another post with those...
