Mitos y leyendas

Saludos amigos

Hello, good morning friends, as I have previously posted, there are several topics that despite not being an expert, I like to think that I am passionate about them. one of these is the theme of myths in our culture, I am sure it is a theme that is heard in many or all countries. In our culture, all myths are somehow passed down for generations but it is certain that many have already disappeared, because we do nothing to preserve them, it is the same as happens with dialects or languages. In my personal case, I was educated by my grandparents who were very governed by sayings to advise, they told us many legends and were affiliated with myths. And how to avoid the healing methods with plants and seeds, which were traditionally very effective. But this time I would like to share with you some of the myths that I remember and even motivated us at some point to prove their veracity. Although of course not all of us succeed.

  1. Myth of the amate tree

I remember that when I was a child, my grandparents and parents told scary stories related to this tree, since according to myth this tree lent itself to mysteries due to its whimsical shape of the branches. According to popular myth, people who performed some kind of spell, looked for these trees to carry out the spells. The point is that after this in the tree or under the tree they began to hear, feel and see mysterious manifestations or phenomena. For that matter, my father told me that he was a witness on several occasions to some apparitions, since to reach our case in those days, we had to cross long paths and paths, jump over fences and streams. Well, in one of these remote and lonely roads, I had to pass under one of these, and also because that area was lonely, it lent itself to being used to do what I mentioned. Well my grandparents and my father assured that there you had to pass without looking up or the sides forward, we had to pass looking forward, otherwise you were exposed to see things that could affect. In fact, there was no shortage of the one who dared to disobey and ended up in the house of a healer, as he had been affected by what he saw. They say that they see people hanging, they saw monkeys that became humans or vice versa, among others. The secret to not being affected, was not to look anywhere that was not forward, there are other secrets to protect yourself from scares but I will leave it for an additional topic.

  1. Myth of the broom behind the door

Always on the subject of myths and legends, I remember that a myth circulated among the people of the place where I grew up, it is a popular myth about how to make a visit shorten your stay in the house. This was done in cases where the person was not very pleasant and you wanted to avoid yourself for so long uncomfortable, then and according to people had the belief, it was to place a broom next to or behind the door. Preferably a door was sought that was not in sight to prevent the person from seeing the action taken. As I recall and I don't know if it was a coincidence or what, but as a prank we did it a couple of times and if it worked. As I repeat, it can also be the effect of chance. Since they are myths, obviously there is no reliable evidence base to prove it.

I hope that some of these examples of myths, described in the previous lines, have been to your liking. I am sure that as well as in the culture of my country, also in the rest of the countries and their different cultures, they will know that we have a lot in common in this matter. Greetings friends
