On Sunday our bus left at 9AM. It was not that big. After the long drive we arrived at the hotel and checked in. After that we went to the rooms and relaxed a bit. We did not know our roommates that much, we didn’t really know each other before. Fortunately we made some new friendships during the journey. We went to have dinner at half past six in the night. At half past eight we went for a walk to the city center to the nearest restaurant. We saw a part of the city at night time. It is so beautiful and the lights are just gorgeous. Then we went to sleep quite late.
On our first Monday morning we met our instructor, Peter. He asked us about ourselves, our family and how much we like the city so far. He asked us some questions and told us about himself. He was nice because he looked genuinely interested in us and in our lives. We had learned about the culture and how to behave in this country. He explained us a lot about our main tutor Christoph @manncpt. He told us everything about his job, and we learned how important it is to be motivated. Taking pictures no matter where we go or what we do, we must take pictures!
Photos make our personal reports more interesting. He introduced us all to our projects. Also how he is expecting us to work with him. He even asked for our social media channels and asked us to post more and more stories because it’s part of our project for Option 2.0 @opt2o. He interviewed us and questioned what we like and what we want to work in the future.
Our little meeting ended around 1 pm so we had time to get our lunch. We walked around in the neighbourhood, because we all needed to explore where the closest fast food restaurants are.
Fortunately we found it and after our lunch, we explored a beautiful park with breath taking buildings. Around this time, @jnmarteau sent us a text, he wanted to get to know us so we had to write him a few sentences about ourselves. We told him our habits, strengths and what we would like to learn in the internship. Late at night we went on a walk again, with the teachers, of course. We went to a promenade and just looked around in the shops and restaurants. We arrived back at the hotel around 10 pm.
The next day at 9am we went to our mini briefing in the drawing room. We got a new job from the other tutor Jean. We had to rethink and rebuild a webpage. In this meeting Zsuzsanna and Bence told the team what they understood about the project. And we distributed the tasks. We began with searching on the internet for inspiration and then we started to build up the base of the website. At 1 o'clock we got our lunch.
We went to buy an amazing sandwich. In the afternoon we continued the project. When we were done for the day, we played some card games. Like Uno or French Cards or some Hungarian cards. It was good and we had some fun. After that we all went to have dinner and at 9PM we had another conversation about the work diary. Then we went to the city and saw the amazing graffitis at the Danube canal. It was amazing in the night's darkness with the city's lights.
Wednesday we had a big update of the projects. We did the prototype and almost finished our proposal. We split into two teams. The first and the second team. The first team members are Zsigus Bence, Dobozi Bence, Magi Zsombor, Balogh Márk. They do the part of writing the page. The second team does the design. The second team members are Mészáros Eszter, Kopasz Dorka, Szendrei Botond, Mokri Martin and Duhonyi Zsuzsanna. We found some websites where we could find some inspiration for the project. It is not done yet. But we are doing pretty good. Eszter and Dorka are looking for colour for the project. Botond, Martin and Zsuzsanna are researching websites about the layout of the page. Afterwards we found some good looking inspiration. Then we sent it to the boys. After work and dinner we went to see the place where we are going to meet with our tutor at Thursday. We went there by metro and tram. It was cool. We found a beautiful place near our hotel. There were a lot of shops and beautiful buildings. We came back with the subway and then we did a little trip to Stephansplatz. The area was looking gorgeous. We went through a designer street near the Michaelerplatz. At the end of the day we arrived at the hotel at about forty-five past ten.
Thursday we started with a little misunderstanding. It turned out we should’ve left earlier because Christoph had to wait for us. We weren’t in time and let’s not talk about how we almost got lost. Eventually we made it in time and met Christoph. He waited for us at his old university campus and showed us around. He asked how we like the city and how we like to work, then what we would like to focus on. Across the street from the university campus, there is a sweet cafe/bar, called Edison.
It’s a nice place to work, it is cosy and modern. We were sitting there and worked on the projects we have to finish. The website is luckily doing well. We all worked hard on our tasks. The girls formed a communication team and the boys did the coding. We had also meetings with @IsabelArens who introduced her start up "Plant the net" to us.
On Friday we had also the chance to work there and met Nadine from @opt2o who was really interested in what we do. She took some pictures of us and helped us to understand more of our job. At the end of the day we finally finished this first group report. Now we are all happy and learned how to publish a post on the hive blockchain. Later we will have another meeting with Jean and with Isabel, so the work continues...
