What is BitTorrent (BTT)?

It is a cryptocurrency developed in partnership with the BitTorrent protocol and the TRON Foundation. It is the native token of the BitTorrent platform. It is a platform that brings together content producers and users, and brings together file sharing in a decentralized environment. BTT is used as a payment tool to increase the speed of file sharing within the platform. At the same time, applications used on the platform can be purchased by users and content producers by paying BTT. BitTorrent is based on TRC 10. In 2018, when it was launched, some BTT; It was distributed to users who installed and used BitTorrent and uTorrent Classic software. It was launched as an ICO project in partnership with TRON and Binance. In the ICO project, sales of 20 million dollars were made, and immediately after the launch, another 7 million dollars were sold.

BTT is the 56st most valuable cryptocurrency with a market cap of $2.2 billion. There are 659,952,625,000 BTTs in circulation while the total supply is 990,000,000,000 BTT.

BitTorrent was completely sold to the TRON Foundation on July 24, 2018. Twitch-like live broadcasting platform DLive, BitTorrent File System (BTFS), BitTorrent & uTorrent programs, and TronTV were developed and started to be used within BitTorrent & TRON. The number of users of uTorrent, which has been in our lives for years, and DLive, which has made a name for itself in recent years, continues to increase day by day. BitTorrent currently has 180 million late monthly users. This means that almost half of daily internet traffic is returned to BitTorrent applications. BitTorrent is the world's largest decentralized protocol, with more than 1 billion users worldwide so far. According to TRON founder Justin Sun, there will be tremendous value as file-sharing producers continue to use BitTorrent.

Another feature in BitTorrent is that storage areas and processing power can be shared, as in many other file sharing, storage, and storage projects. A file downloaded in a peer-to-peer network is set up to help others download that file as long as the downloader allows it, that is, it becomes a seeder. At the same time, when downloading large files, the added viewer pages allow the file to be downloaded faster, which is a feature that I think most of us are familiar with. :)

BitTorrent Speed
The BitTorrent Speed application developed by BitTorrent allows you to share your upload speed as a seeder and earn BTT in return. You can earn BTT with the BitTorrent Speed feature, which you can activate from the top left corner of the application that you can download from BitTorrent's or uTorrent's site. For this, you first need to download a few popular torrent files, then as a seeder you need to help others download these files. When you open BitTorrent Speed, you need to create a wallet with a password from the wallet section. Then make a note of your private keys so that you can log in again when necessary, so that your BTTs do not go to waste. In the first wallet created, 10 BTT comes to the wallet as a gift balance.
