BIBLE STUDY: Day 195 Micah 1-7

Today, I was reading Micah chapters 1 -7 in day 195 of the chronological study plan. Summarily, it talks of the injustice of God's people Israel and God pronouncing his judgment on the injustice, wickedness and disobedience of his people through the prophet Micah. Where rebellion resides, judgment sure follows. That is the justice of the Lord. As I read through, I kept on thinking about the World today. So many countries in the World are rebellious in their actions, laws and judgment of what is right and wrong just like the children of Israel. This sadly, points only to one thing. Judgment will follow very soon. The Lord is a God of justice and the wicked shall be judged.

As I read through today, a passage that caught my attention was in Chapter. See what it says:

for the son treats the father with contempt,
the daughter rises up against her mother,
the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
a man's enemies are the men of his own house.

               Mic 7:6

This portion got me and what struck me most was the last line that says "a man's enemies are the men of his own house". That is so true when you look at it. Often, the people who stab us in the back are not outsiders but people within our circle. People we trust and love. The enemy you're looking for is not always far, he/she is right beside you. That is why we must place our hope and trust only in the Lord. Man will always fail you but God will never fail you. The heart of man is wicked and since the day of his conception, his thoughts are towards evil. It takes the indwelling of the spirit of God to change that nature which unfortunately most people have rejected and are now caught up in evil.

PRAYER
Lord, we thank you for this day and the grace to see it. We appreciate your mercies that are new every day. Father, we pray that you will continue to show mercy to this generation. Turn our hearts of stone to that of flesh, that we may fear and obey you. This we humbly ask in the name of the Jesus Christ. Amen!!!
