I'm home again after a short vacation. I have one beer that I usually drink whenever I wait for a ferry from the mainland Prizna to the island Pag.
Well, this time I brought it home. After a few hours of driving and tidying things up, I am now ready to taste. You know - dulce at utile...
Vilinbor
It's advertised as a special and the first trotter beer, using the water from the Velebit hills, as one of the highest quality beer brewing waters in Europe. Um ... maybe a little exaggerating... I mean...trotter...???
Brewed by Pivovara Ličanka, Donje Pazarište, Croatia. Dark lager, bottle 0.5 L, alcohol 5.1% by volume.
As I mentioned, sometimes I drink this beer when I wait for the ferry, it's very rare, I don't remember ever seeing that beer in any store.
Dark brown with strong and dense foam. The first sip of a rich flavor of malt and caramel, a medium bitter flavor of hops is in the background and remains quite a long time after the last sip.
Far from being a bad beer, it's a solid dark lager, but there is no surplus (except the first trotter beer in Europe ???). Mostly, it just shortens my waiting for the ferry.
