During modernism, at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, there was a need to transform art, philosophy and to find new forms of social organization. Forms that reflected the emerging industrialized world.
An example from those days is the Pere Mata Institute in Reus, Catalonia, Spain.
It was designed by the Catalan modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and built between 1897 and 1912.
Durante el modernismo, finales del s. XlX y principios del s. XX, había necesidad de transformar el arte, la folosofía y de encontrar nuevas formas de organización a nivel social. Formas que reflejasen el emergente mundo industrializado.
Un ejemplo de aquellos días es el Instituto Pere Mata de Reus, en Cataluña, España.
Fue diseñado por el arquitecto modernista catalán, Lluís Domènech i Montaner y construido entre los años 1897 y 1912.
The building is currently still used as a psychiatric hospital, except for one of the pavilions, the so-called "Pavilion of the distinguished", which is not used for medical purposes and can be visited.
Actualmente el edificio todavía se utiliza de como hospital psiquiátrico, excepto uno de los pabellones, el llamado "Pabellón de los distinguidos", al que no se le da uso médico y que puede ser visitado.
