В 2011 году я побывала с подругами (И и Д) в Вене. Одно из самых ярких впечатлений было посещение Венской оперы.	In 2011 I visited Vienna with my friends (S and D). One of the most vivid impressions was a visit to the Vienna Opera.
Знаменитая Венская опера (Wiener Staatsoper) - первое здание, открывшееся на Ринге (в мае 1869 года). Спектаклем, открывавшим Оперу, был моцартовский "Дон Джованни". Из путеводителя Афиша: «Венская Опера и поныне занимает совершенно уникальное место в городе и в стране: она находится на государственном финансировании, и поговаривают, что бюджет ее больше, чем бюджет австрийской армии. В прошлом руководителями Оперы были Густав Малер, Рихард Штраус, Клаудио Аббадо и Герберт фон Караян. Последний достиг здесь абсолютной власти, за что получил прозвище "Франц Иосиф от музыки". С архитектурой Оперы связана печальная легенда (а, может, и не легенда). Император Франц-Иосиф публично раскритиковал новое здание. Не вынеся позора, архитектор Эдуард ван дер Нюль повесился, а его друг и инженер Август Зикард ван Зикардсбург через два месяца скончался от сердечного приступа. В свою очередь это произвело такое тягостное впечатление на Франца-Иосифа, что с тех пор на все просьбы высказать личное мнение по какому бы то ни было художественному вопросу, он всегда отвечал одной фразой: "Было очень красиво, мне очень понравилось".

A sad legend (or maybe not a legend) is connected with the architecture of the Opera. Emperor Franz Joseph publicly criticized the new building. Unable to bear the disgrace, the architect Eduard van der Nüll hanged himself, and his friend and engineer August Zickard van Zickardsburg died of a heart attack two months later. In turn, this made such a painful impression on Franz Joseph that since then, to all requests for a personal opinion on any artistic issue, he always answered with one phrase: "It was very beautiful, I really liked it."

Для посещения Оперы мы выбрали очень экономный, но при этом самый некомфортабельный вариант. В Венской опере перед каждым спектаклем свободно продают изумительно дешевые билеты на стоячие места. Задумывалось это когда-то для студентов. Но, похоже, что давно уже распродают такие билеты всем желающим независимо от статуса и возраста. Мы выбрали оперу Гуно «Фауст».

To visit the Opera, we chose a very economical, but at the same time the most uncomfortable option. At the Vienna Opera, before each performance, they freely sell amazingly cheap standing room tickets. This was conceived once for students. But it seems that they have been selling such tickets for a long time to everyone, regardless of status and age. We chose Gounod's Faust.

И вот 24 апреля 2011г. за 1,5 часа до начала спектакля мы пришли за билетами. Если стоять лицом к парадному входу, то продажа стоячих билетов – с левого торца. Но почему-то в этой поездке с право-лево у нас решительно не заладилось. Мы первым делом пронеслись мимо очереди, даже не заметив ее, и пошли обследовать правую сторону. По пути посмотрели на композиторские звезды на мостовой.

And then April 24, 2011. 1.5 hours before the start of the performance, we came for tickets. If you stand facing the main entrance, then the sale of standing tickets is from the left. But for some reason, on this trip from right to left, we decidedly did not work out. First of all, we rushed past the queue without even noticing it, and went to explore the right side. On the way we looked at the composer's stars on the pavement.

Ни надписей, ни очереди мы там не нашли. Честно подергались в разные двери. Заперто. Пошли обходить здание. Ну, вот же! Как мы сразу не увидели? Уже длиннющая очередь.

Но продвигается довольно быстро. Вскоре мы уже оказались внутри помещения кассы, разделенного барьерами так, чтобы получался спиралевидный проход. Поэтому, хоть касса и запружена людьми полностью по всей ширине, но, получается, что все они выстроены в четкую очередь друг за другом. Продают строго один билет – в одни руки, т.е. нельзя взять несколько и передать потом кому-то на улице. Собственно, из кассы с билетами – проход сразу уже внутрь театра. Из двух вариантов выбираем подороже, в партере. Тогда этот билет стоил 2 евро. Сейчас, если я правильно поняла на сайте оперы, уже 10.

Actually, from the box office with tickets - the passage is immediately inside the theater. Of the two options, we choose more expensive, in the parterre. Then this ticket cost 2 euros. Now, if I understood correctly on the opera website, it's already 10.

Парадная лестница очень красива. На ступеньках выстроились торжественным рядом трое билетеров в форме. Фотографирую. И только потом замечаю: тот, что в центре – вовсе не билетер, а юный посетитель оперы, ему захотелось сфотографироваться с работниками в форме на красивой лестнице.

And only then I notice: the one in the center is not an usher at all, but a young visitor to the opera, he wanted to be photographed with workers in uniform on a beautiful staircase.

и идем, куда послали. На входе нас предупреждают, что рюкзаки надо сдать в гардероб. Сдаём (это бесплатно).

Стоячие места – это широкие ступеньки, перед каждой из которых перила, в центре – проход. На всех перилах уже повязаны платочки и шарфики. Это означает, что место зарезервировано. Кто и когда успел это сделать – загадка. Свободны – боковушки нескольких перил.

Standing places are wide steps, in front of each of which there is a railing, in the center there is a passage. Handkerchiefs and scarves are already tied on all the railings. This means that the place is reserved. Who and when managed to do this is a mystery. Free - the sides of several railings.

Мы уже довольно уставшие за день прогулки. Я сажусь в проходе на ступеньку передохнуть. Но тут же подскакивает билетёр и говорит, в проходе присаживаться нельзя. Мы с И повязываем на свободные боковушки свои шарфики и идем осматривать театр. Разумная Д пока присаживается на свободную ступеньку в зоне перед перилами, так разрешено пока не начался спектакль. Потом тоже нельзя.

We are already quite tired from the day of walking. I sit down in the aisle on the step to rest. But then the usher jumps up and says, you can’t sit down in the aisle. I and S tie our scarves on the free sides and go to inspect the theater. Reasonable D still sits down on a free step in the area in front of the railing, this is allowed until the performance begins. Later you can't either.

Занавес – дань современности. Это работа Сая Твомбли "Вакх" (Bacchus). Ну, даже сказать нечего. По моему, как-то нелепо.

Спросили, можно ли зайти в партер, сделать несколько фотографий зала. Да, можно. Ярусы в традиционных цветах – красный, золото, цвет слоновой кости. Красиво.

А вот местоположение нашего стоячего партера. Как видите, очень неплохо: вид из центра, обзор всей сцены. Если прийти на спектакль отдохнувшим и полным сил, то это, конечно, прекрасный выход для бюджетного ознакомления с шедеврами мировой оперы.

Когда вернулись, всё уже битком. Д удалось окончательно внедриться на то место, где она сидела, ей можно хотя бы опираться на перила. Мы с И стоим друг за дружкой в проходе. Видно и слышно прекрасно, но каааак же тяжело стоять после дня прогулки по городу! Оказалось, это гораздо тяжелее, чем ходить.

When we got back, there were already a lot of people in the standing parterre. D managed to finally infiltrate the place where she was sitting, she can at least lean on the railing. I and S stand behind each other in the aisle. We can see and hear perfectly, but it's so hard to stand after a day of walking around the city! It turned out to be much harder than walking.

Спектакль очень нравится. Прекрасные голоса и не отпускающее действо. Декорации – лаконичные: несколько огромных передвижных панелей, быстро создающих нужное пространство от кабинета Фауста до тенистой аллеи или городской площади. Следующие 3 фотографии я взяла в 2011гю на сайте Венской Оперы (https://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/) и сохранила на компьютере. Сейчас уже ссылку на сами фото не дам, много лет прошло.

Больше всего запомнился, конечно, Мефистофель в исполнении Эрвина Шротта (Erwin Schrot)- уругвайского красавчика и бывшего мужа Анны Нетребко. Понравилось всё: голос, игра, внешность, решение его костюма - современная чёрная кожаная одежда и голый торс. Среди условно-старинных скромных белёсых нарядов остальных смотрится, действительно, адским пришельцем.

Most memorable, of course, Mephistopheles performed by Erwin Schrott (Erwin Schrot) - handsome Uruguayan and ex-husband of Anna Netrebko. I liked everything: voice, game, appearance, the solution of his costume - modern black leather clothes and a naked torso. Among the conventionally old modest whitish outfits of the rest, it really looks like an infernal alien.

Спектакль разделили на неравные части. Вначале где-то часа 1,5 до антракта. К концу первого отделения ноги подкашиваются.	The performance was divided into unequal parts. At first, about 1.5 hours before intermission. By the end of the first section, the legs give way.
В антракт выползли в вестибюль и увидели тумбочку и стульчики для билетеров. Один стульчик уже занят. Мы с И сели вдвоем на второй, Д – на тумбочку. Д сообщила, что там, оказывается, на перилах висят экранчики с английскими субтитрами. Пересказала нам кое-какие непонятные эпизоды. Затем Д переместилась на еще один освободившийся стульчик, а я - на тумбочку. Подошла девушка-билетер, попросила слезть. Оказалось, что ей надо было что-то взять в ящичке, после чего она показала жестом, что можно опять садиться. Добрая-добрая девушка! Я ее чуть не расцеловала. D said that there, it turns out, screens with English subtitles hang on the railing. She told us some not fully understood episodes. Then D moved to another vacant chair, and I moved on the bedside table. A ticket clerk came up and asked me to stand up. It turned out that she had to take something from the drawer, after which she gestured that she could sit down again. Good-good girl! I almost kissed her.
В итоге, немного передохнув, решили, что в состоянии досмотреть-дослушать до конца.	In the end, after a short rest, we decided that we can to watch and listen to the end.
На стоячих местах много азиатских туристов, много молодёжи, но было и несколько пожилых граждан при полном параде, отстоявших весь спектакль, бурно аплодировавших и кричавших «Браво!».	There were many Asian tourists in the standing places, many young people, but there were also several elderly citizens in full dress, who stood up for the entire performance, applauding wildly and shouting "Bravo!"
Подслушали любопытный разговор молодежи. Две хорошенькие девочки из России и активно заигрывающий с ними парень из Германии. Девчонки по ходу разговора как-то нелестно-презрительно отозвались о нашей стране. Неожиданно парнишка буквально взвился: «Как вы можете так говорить? Россия – великая страна!». Поведал, что его отец часто ездил по работе в Россию, много рассказывал и привил сыну любовь к ней. Да, разговор проходил на русском и говорил он очень неплохо. Девчонки стушевались. Очень приятно и неожиданно было.	Overheard a curious conversation of young people. Two pretty girls from Russia and a guy from Germany, who actively flirting with them. The girls, in the course of the conversation, somehow unflatteringly and contemptuously spoke about our country. Unexpectedly, the boy literally soared: “How can you say that? Russia is a great country!". He said that his father often traveled to work in Russia, told a lot and instilled in his son a love for her. Yes, the conversation was in Russian and he spoke very well. The girls flinched. It was very pleasant and unexpected.
Еще мне показалось, что по сравнению с Россией, в зале гораздо больше мужчин. У нас театры и концерты заполняют в большинстве женщины.	It seemed to me that compared to Russia, there are much more men in the hall. Our theaters and concerts are mostly filled by women.
Часть народа не выдержала и ушла во время антракта, так что второе отделение можно было хотя бы на перила облокотиться и субтитры подглядывать.	Part of the people could not stand it and left during the intermission, so that the second part could at least lean on the railing and peep at the subtitles.
По окончании спектакля артисты получили овации и крики «Браво!», а вот цветы дарить в Европе почему-то не принято. Тем не менее, когда Эрвин Шротт получил-таки единственный букет, видно было насколько это приятно артисту. Цветочки из этого букета были выделены и другим, например, дирижеру. Так что, у зрителей европейских, может, оно и не принято, но артисты с этим, похоже, не очень-то согласны.	At the end of the performance, the artists received a standing ovation and shouts of “Bravo!”, But for some reason it is not customary to give flowers in Europe. Nevertheless, when Erwin Schrott received the only bouquet, it was clear how pleasant it was for the artist. Flowers from this bouquet were allocated to others, for example, to the conductor. So, among European viewers, maybe it is not accepted, but the artists do not seem to agree with this very much.
